Do Armenians Undergo Buttock Surgery?

In Armenia, plastic surgeries have long become commonplace. Today, not only women but also members of the male half of humanity easily opt out of the “Armenian nose”.

A journalist from the Slaq.am information resource discusses plastic surgery in Armenia with Gevorg Yuryevich Yeghiazaryan, Head of the Aesthetic Plastic Surgery Service.

— Which age group most frequently seeks plastic surgery?

— Mostly, women aged 18-30 approach us.

— Are there cases when you refuse to operate on patients?

— Very often. When I see that a patient’s desires cannot be realized, I unequivocally refuse.

— Nowadays, many people look at photos of a famous celebrity and try to recreate that look on themselves. Which star do people most frequently try to resemble?

— I can say that at the moment, the exact opposite is happening. Instead of becoming someone’s copy, a maximally natural result is encouraged, and there is no race after fashion.

— Apart from nose reshaping, what other plastic surgeries are most common?

— The most popular surgery is rhinoplasty. It accounts for about 90% of all procedures. The remaining 10% are taken up by all other plastic surgeries, such as breast and abdominal plastic surgery, etc.

— Is it true that the seasonal factor is very important for plastic surgery?

— Not at all. During the first week after surgery, the patient must stay home, where a moderate temperature is maintained throughout the year, so the season doesn’t matter at all. I have had patients from Siberia who returned home after surgery when the temperature there was -30, contacted me, and said they had no problems at all.

— What is your pricing policy?

— The cost of nose reshaping at the moment is 550 thousand drams. Mammoplasty costs more due to the high cost of silicone implants and totals around 2500-3000 dollars. Lip augmentation via injections will cost 100-150 thousand drams.

— Do people approach you regarding buttock surgery?

— No. Such surgeries are very popular in beach countries. In Armenia, no one has approached me with such concerns.

— As a man, how do you feel about plastic surgery?

— Favorably, because I believe that a properly performed surgery should not draw attention to itself at all. And if nothing is noticeable, why not?

— What advice would you give to girls who fall victim to fashion trends and turn to a plastic surgeon?

— I cannot offer any advice in this case, except to wish them to find the right surgeon who will try to convince them that it is unnecessary. I try to convince every patient who comes to my consultation not to undergo surgery. Only if the patient is convinced of the correctness of their decision and knows exactly what result they want to achieve, do I perform the operation.
