Facial harmonization and restoration of nasal breathing in men

Description

A young man approached me for help with a comprehensive transformation. During the initial visual examination and analysis of the “Before” data, a classic picture presented itself, requiring both aesthetic and serious functional intervention.

Initial anatomical features

I noted a pronounced hump and a massive nasal dorsum. The tip was slightly droopy, which visually weighed down the face and gave it a somewhat tired appearance. Additionally, asymmetry was clearly visible: the deviation of the nasal axis indicated a septal deformity. It is quite obvious that with such anatomy, the patient experienced regular difficulties with nasal breathing, so my goal was not just visual harmonization, but also the restoration of the comfort of a fulfilling life.

I should specifically mention the skin quality: the patient has thick, porous male skin. For me as a surgeon, this is always a challenge that requires meticulous work with the underlying cartilaginous structures so that an elegant yet natural contour emerges through the thick skin flap. Male rhinoplasty does not tolerate excess — my main task was to preserve the masculinity of the features, avoiding the “done”, overly turned-up doll-like nose effect.

Course of the surgery

I performed a hybrid rhinoseptoplasty. First of all, I worked carefully with the septum, straightening it and restoring physiologically correct nasal breathing. Then, I delicately lowered the dorsum, removed the hump, and created an absolutely even, straight masculine profile line. The nasal tip was elevated just enough to freshen the gaze and was provided with reliable support.

Result

Evaluating the “After” result, I can see how my patient’s face has transformed. The proportions have come into perfect balance, the heaviness is gone, and the gaze has become more open and confident. We achieved a straight, aesthetically flawless, yet absolutely masculine nose that breathes just as well as it looks. The patient is incredibly happy with the result, and I am always glad to complement natural beauty with my professional touch. As our favorite joke goes: “The eyes are from mom, but the nose is from me.”
