A young woman came for a consultation, wishing to harmonize her facial aesthetics. Her primary desire was to get rid of the hump and achieve a more refined, feminine profile.
Initial Anatomical Features (“Before” Photo)
During the examination and analysis of the profile projection, I identified several key anatomical nuances to be addressed:
- Nasal dorsum: a pronounced osteocartilaginous prominence (hump) disrupted the smoothness of the lines and made the profile look visually heavier and more austere.
- Nasal tip: tended to droop slightly, which was especially noticeable when smiling. This visually elongated the nose and deprived the face of its natural softness.
- Skin: of moderate thickness, which required meticulous precision from me when working with the underlying cartilaginous structures, so that the new contour would lay perfectly smooth and without any visible suture definition.
Objectives and Surgical Procedure
My main goal in this case was not just the mechanical removal of the hump, but a complete rebalancing of the face. It was crucial to preserve the patient’s individuality while making the overall look lighter, fresher, and more youthful.
During the closed rhinoseptoplasty, I performed a careful reduction of the bony and cartilaginous components of the nasal dorsum, creating a straight, natural profile line. I paid special attention to the tip area: rotation and fixation of the nasal tip were performed in a new, slightly elevated position. This allowed for the creation of a beautiful nasolabial angle, harmonizing with the lines of the lips and chin. Additionally, the internal septum was corrected during the surgery to ensure flawless nasal breathing.
Result After 8 Months (“After” Photo)
At the follow-up examination after 8 months, we see an excellent intermediate result (although the final tissue remodeling continues for up to a year).
- The line of the nasal dorsum has become perfectly straight, without a trace of the former hump.
- The nasal tip has been elevated, becoming neat, defined, and elegant.
- The “heavy” look has disappeared, and the facial features have softened, becoming more open and harmonious.
The patient is completely satisfied with the result: the nose looks completely natural, as if she were born with it, and free breathing brings her joy every day.
