Early dynamics: profile harmony and ptosis correction (3 weeks)

Description

The patient who came to me for a consultation was categorically dissatisfied with her own profile. A large nose dominated her face, depriving it of its natural softness and femininity. The patient dreamed of getting rid of a pronounced hump and lifting the nasal tip, which dropped even lower during speech and facial expressions, making the facial expression excessively stern.

Initial Anatomical Picture (Preoperative)

When analyzing the face in profile, I noted a classic complex of aesthetic imperfections requiring a comprehensive surgical approach:

  • Nasal dorsum: a high, massive osteocartilaginous hump was identified, sharply disrupting the smoothness of the facial contours.
  • Nasal tip: was significantly drooped, leaving the nasolabial angle acute. This visually elongated the nose and gave the face a tired, somewhat aged appearance.
  • Anatomical features: the patient had rather dense cartilaginous structures that required delicate yet confident reshaping to create a graceful support.

My main goal was to remove the hump, shorten the visual length of the nose, and gently lift the tip, creating a harmonious silhouette that blends well with the rest of the facial features.

Operative Course and Surgical Nuances

During the rhinoplasty, I performed a controlled reduction of the osteocartilaginous portion of the nasal dorsum, completely eliminating the hump and forming an ideally straight line.

The next crucial step was working on the tip area. I performed rotation of the nasal tip cartilages, slightly lifting it and establishing a correct, aesthetically precise nasolabial angle. To secure the tip in this position, a reliable cartilaginous support was reconstructed. This ensures that over time, under the influence of gravity and facial muscles, the nose will not drop and will retain its elegant shape.

Result After Just 3 Weeks

The “After” photos showcase a very early result — only 21 days have passed since the surgery. For such a short recovery period, we see amazing dynamics. Of course, postoperative swelling still persists on the nasal tip and dorsum (it takes up to a year for the tissues to fully mature and become as refined as possible), but the main changes are already visible now:

  • The massive hump has been completely eliminated, and the nasal dorsum has become straight and elegant.
  • The nasal tip is delicately lifted, opening the nasolabial angle and removing the “heavy” profile effect.
  • The patient’s face was instantly transformed — it began to look much softer, younger, and fresher.

Despite the early stage of recovery, the patient is already incredibly happy and enjoys looking in the mirror. With each passing month, the lines will become even more refined and defined, but it is already clear now: we have succeeded in restoring absolute harmony to the face.
