A lovely young woman reached out to me for help in refining her profile, with a desire to make her facial features more elegant. In addition to aesthetic goals, the patient experienced difficulties with nasal breathing, which required a comprehensive approach from me to solve both visual and functional issues.
Initial Anatomical Features
During the detailed examination stage, I carefully studied the initial anatomical features. I paid attention to the massive, wide, and slightly flattened nasal tip, which visually weighed down the face and made the nostril shape excessively round. However, the main feature and simultaneous challenge in this case was the quality of the covering tissues: the patient has dense, thick, and porous skin. For me, as a surgeon, such initial data always means the necessity for particularly meticulous work. Thick skin tends to “conceal” elegant shapes, so my task was to create the most defined, stable, and expressive cartilaginous framework that could set a new, proper contour and “break through” the thickness of the tissues.
Course of the Surgery
I performed an open hybrid rhinoseptoplasty. The choice of the open approach allowed me to gain full visual control and work with the cartilaginous structures as delicately as possible. I carried out extensive work to narrow and form a new, elegant projection of the nasal tip. Simultaneously with the aesthetic correction, I straightened the deviated nasal septum to restore free and full breathing to the patient once and for all.
Result
Evaluating the “after” result, I can confidently say that the set goals have been achieved. I managed to form a neat, chiseled, and symmetrical nasal tip. The nostrils acquired a proper, aesthetic teardrop shape, and the bridge became straight and graceful. Despite the challenging, thick skin, the nose turned out very natural and structural. The girl’s face visually became lighter, fresher, and more expressive. I am sincerely glad to see my patient glowing with happiness, enjoying both her new reflection in the mirror and the newly found comfort of free breathing.
