Profile Reshaping: Hump Removal and Tip Rotation

Description

A young woman experiencing profound aesthetic discomfort due to the shape of her nose came to me for a consultation. Her primary request was to relieve the profile of its heaviness, remove a large hump, and make her facial features softer and more feminine.

When analyzing the baseline profile anatomy (the “Before” photo), I identified a pronounced osteocartilaginous dorsal hump. The nasal tip was droopy, forming an excessively acute nasolabial angle. This deformity visually elongated the middle third of the face, making the gaze appear harsher and the overall look look more tired. With this degree of nasal tip ptosis, patients often experience impaired function of the nasal valve, which compromises full nasal breathing. Therefore, the procedure was planned as both aesthetic and functional at the same time.

My task was to completely reshape the profile: remove the hump, harmonize the proportions, and lift the nasal tip. During the surgery, I performed a careful resection of the excess bone and cartilage of the dorsum, creating a perfectly straight, refined line. Next, I proceeded to a delicate tip plasty—altering its rotation, lifting it slightly, and securely fixing it into place to restore proper anatomical support. A septoplasty was also performed to straighten the septum.

The photo shows the result 6 months post-surgery. The tissues have already contracted beautifully, and we can appreciate an elegant, sculpted silhouette.

  • The nasal dorsum has become completely smooth.
  • The neat tip opened up the nasolabial angle.
  • The patient’s face was instantly transformed—it began to look remarkably soft, open, and fresh.

The young woman completely freed herself from long-standing complexes, finding harmony and free nasal breathing.
