A charming young lady came to my consultation wishing to soften her facial features and get the profile of her dreams. The main visual complaints she addressed me with were a pronounced hump and a somewhat drooping, elongated nasal tip. Visually, such anatomical features weigh down the face, giving it a more strict and tired look, hiding natural femininity and tenderness.
Initial anatomical features
During a detailed examination, I assessed the baseline data:
- In addition to the osteocartilaginous hump, I noticed an acute nasolabial angle formed by the drooping tip.
- The patient’s skin is quite thick — for me as a surgeon, this always means that the work on the cartilaginous framework must be truly precise, like jewelry work. With this skin thickness, it is necessary to create a very clear and solid support so that the new graceful tip is well-defined and does not lose its shape in the future.
- In addition, as is often the case with such deformities, correction of a deviated nasal septum was required to restore fully free breathing.
Surgical procedure and the surgeon’s tasks
I performed a comprehensive functional and aesthetic rhinoseptoplasty. My main task was not just to remove the imperfections, but to harmonise the face while preserving its individuality.
I gently and delicately reduced the projection of the nasal dorsum, completely eliminating the hump and forming a beautiful, straight line. Then, I performed a rotation of the nasal tip: elevated it, made it more graceful, and securely fixed it in the new, correct position.
Result after 1 month (After)
The “After” photo shows the result just 1 month after the surgery. Although the tissues still retain a slight postoperative swelling (which is completely physiological for this period), the transformation is already obvious.
- The profile has become incredibly soft, light, and harmonious.
- The nasolabial angle has opened up, making the face look instantly refreshed and younger.
My patient is happy to see her new, refined reflection in the mirror, and, just as importantly, she now breathes absolutely freely.
