Description

A young female patient came to me complaining of a pronounced bony hump and excessive nose length. According to her, this robbed her face of softness. She felt that her nose gave her look a harsh and “tired” appearance. Additionally, she mentioned problems with nasal breathing, especially during physical exertion.

Initial anatomical picture through the surgeon’s eyes

After examining her “Before” photos, I noted: a massive bony hump creating a sharp, masculine profile. The nasal tip was droopy, and the nasolabial angle was too acute, which visually weighed down the face. In the frontal view, the nasal pyramid was widened, and the tip lacked definition. The presence of such an external deformity, combined with obstructed breathing, indicated that functional septoplasty was an essential part of the treatment plan.

Surgical plan and procedure

My goal was not just to “remove the hump,” but to create a harmonious, elegant nose that completely matched the patient’s facial features. The surgery required meticulous, filigree work. I performed a septoplasty, fully restoring the septum for free breathing. Then, using delicate techniques, I carefully resected the osteocartilaginous hump. A key stage was the fine remodeling of the nasal tip: I lifted and defined it, creating an ideal nasolabial angle, and narrowed the nasal bridge, giving it definition.

Result after 1.5 months

In the photos taken 1.5 months after the surgery, we can already see magnificent intermediate results. Although it is still an early period and slight swelling persists, the difference is colossal. The hump has completely disappeared. The bridge of the nose has become smooth and narrow. The nasal tip is defined, neatly lifted, and shortened. In the frontal view, the nose looks chiseled and symmetrical.

The patient’s face was instantly transformed: it began to look much fresher, younger, and softer. The focus has now shifted to her beautiful eyes. And, most importantly, the patient can now breathe freely, and her satisfaction with the result is the best reward for me.
