A large, prominent nose with a drooping tip often gives a woman’s face excessive severity and visually adds age. It was precisely with this problem that this young patient came to my consultation. Her main desire was to get rid of the pronounced hump and make her profile soft, harmonious, and elegant.
Initial Anatomical Features (Before Surgery)
When analyzing the face in profile, I identified several key aesthetic and structural issues:
- Nasal bridge: The presence of a large, pronounced osteocartilaginous hump that sharply disrupted the smoothness of the facial lines.
- Nasal tip: Noticeably drooped downward, forming a so-called “aquiline” or beak-like profile. Because of this, the nasolabial angle was excessively acute, which visually weighed down the middle third of the face.
- Anatomical proportions: The nose appeared too long and dominated over the other features, depriving the face of its natural softness.
- Functional aspect: Such large-scale deformities of the external nose are almost always accompanied by a deviated internal septum, which was confirmed during the examination — the patient complained of difficulty breathing.
Surgical Procedure and Tasks Solved
To achieve the perfect result, I needed to perform a closed rhinoseptoplasty aimed at complete aesthetic and functional reconstruction:
- I performed a precise, jewel-like resection of the bony and cartilaginous parts of the hump, completely leveling the line of the nasal bridge and giving it a natural, refined contour.
- The most critical stage was working with the tip section: I carefully lifted (rotated) the tip of the nose, fixed it in a new, correct position, and formed a beautiful, open nasolabial angle. The transition line from the bridge to the tip became smooth.
- Simultaneously with the aesthetic correction, I corrected the nasal septum deviation (septoplasty) to fully restore healthy nasal aerodynamics.
Surgical Result
In the “After” photos, we see a stunning transformation result.
The change in the shape of the nose completely transformed the perception of the patient’s face. The profile became incredibly soft, neat, and harmonious. Getting rid of the drooped tip provided a pronounced “beautification” and visual rejuvenation effect — the face began to look fresh, light, and open.
All the set surgical tasks were successfully accomplished: the nose retained its individuality but was freed from flaws, and most importantly, the patient now breathes freely and is completely satisfied with her new reflection in the mirror.
