A young female patient came to my consultation with pronounced aesthetic and functional complaints. Her main desire was to get rid of a massive nose, which, in her feeling, completely dominated her face and deprived her image of femininity.
Initial Anatomical Findings (Before)
When analyzing the patient’s profile, I identified key areas requiring radical correction:
- Nasal bridge: The presence of a large, high osteocartilaginous hump, which made the profile harsh and masculine.
- Nasal tip: Severely drooped, elongated, with an almost critically acute nasolabial angle. This “plunging” tip visually added age to the patient and gave the face a tired, frowning expression.
- Breathing: The displacement of external cartilage structures naturally led to a deviation of the internal septum, which caused the young woman to complain of constant nasal congestion.
Objectives and Surgical Procedure
My main goal was to restore harmony to the face by creating a neat, natural nose that would fit perfectly into the overall proportions. The work ahead was extensive.
I performed a careful reconstruction of the nasal bridge, completely and delicately removing the hump and shaping a smooth, noble profile line. The main emphasis was placed on the precise modeling of the tip: I performed its rotation (lifted it up) and slightly reduced the projection, securely fixing the cartilaginous framework to prevent it from drooping in the future. Naturally, at the same time, I straightened the septum, fully clearing the airways.
Result After 6 Months
In the photographs taken six months after the surgery, an excellent intermediate result is visible (although the tissues will continue to settle and become even more elegant).
The patient’s profile has fundamentally changed: the heaviness disappeared, and the line from the bridge of the nose to the tip became flawlessly straight and soft. Due to the change in the rotation of the nasal tip, the nasolabial angle opened up, the face became visually younger, and began to look fresh, delicate, and radiant. The new facial features look absolutely natural — no one would ever guess that a surgeon worked here. Nasal breathing has been fully restored, and my patient’s happy smile is the best confirmation of a successfully completed job.
