A young girl sought help for profile correction, wishing to harmonize her facial features and get rid of long-standing nasal breathing problems.
Initial anatomical features
Analyzing the results of my patient’s preoperative computed tomography (CT) scan, I immediately noticed a pronounced deformity: the images clearly showed a severe deviated septum and asymmetry of intranasal structures. It is completely obvious that with such anatomy, full nasal breathing was extremely difficult, which is why the patient was in acute need of proper functional correction (septoplasty). Speaking of the aesthetic side of the matter, initially we were dealing with a pronounced dorsal hump, asymmetrical nostrils, and a slightly massive, broad nasal tip that made the face look somewhat heavy and distracted attention from the girl’s beautiful eyes.
Surgical process
I performed a comprehensive open rhinoseptoplasty. My primary task as a doctor was to restore the physiological function: I meticulously reconstructed and straightened the nasal septum to give the patient back the ability to breathe fully. After that, I moved on to the aesthetic stage. The patient’s skin has a certain thickness, which always complicates the surgeon’s task and requires a highly precise, detailed approach when shaping the cartilaginous framework — otherwise, achieving a refined definition is impossible. I carefully lowered the nasal bridge, completely eliminating the hump, and delicately reshaped the structures of the lower lateral cartilages.
The Result
In the “After” footage, you can see our final result. The profile has become perfectly straight, soft, and natural. The tip of the nose acquired the correct projection, becoming narrower and more refined, and the nostrils now look completely symmetrical. Thanks to these changes, the patient’s entire face was transformed — it began to look more delicate, fresh, and rested. I am sincerely glad that I managed not only to give her a beautiful profile but also to fully restore free breathing. As I like to joke when admiring such results: the eyes are her mother’s, but the perfect nose is my work.
