CT Scan Data and Specialist’s Report

What is it?

CT stands for “computed tomography”. This is a non-invasive method for examining the condition of human internal organs.
As you might guess, I am interested in the condition of the nose and paranasal sinuses.

What you need to do:

Go to a clinic that has a full-fledged CT scanner (not a dental office) and request a “CT of the nose and paranasal sinuses” with a slice thickness of 0.5–1 mm.
After that, you need to send all this to me along with the report. CT scans without a report will NOT be reviewed!

What are these files and where to get them?!

Files with your CT results are usually given to you on a CD. These files must be uploaded via the “virtual consultant”. Don’t worry, below is a step-by-step video guide showing what to do with the CT files and how to upload them:

If you have one or more of the diseases/conditions listed below, rhinoplasty is IMPOSSIBLE. No exceptions or reservations.

Please read the list carefully and confirm that you have NONE of these conditions.

age under 17 (exceptions are possible in some cases; for example, in case of trauma, rhinoplasty can be performed at an earlier age);
age over 65 (due to the increased risk of complications, as well as delayed tissue healing resulting from weakened regenerative processes);
cardiovascular system diseases, in particular, coronary heart disease, heart failure, and arterial hypertension;
pregnancy and lactation;
atrophic rhinitis;
liver and kidney diseases;
diabetes mellitus;
blood coagulation disorders;
folliculitis in the area of the planned surgical intervention;
acne in the area of the planned surgical intervention;
acute viral diseases;
oncological diseases;
mental illnesses;
HIV;
Hepatitis B or C.

What medical tests should be taken before the surgery?

Complete Blood Count (CBC), ESR
Coagulogram (APTT, INR, thrombin time, fibrinogen, antithrombin, clotting time)
Biochemical blood test (total protein, total and direct bilirubin, urea, creatinine, ALT, AST, glucose).
General urine test (for the general test, the entire portion of morning urine is collected after careful hygiene of the genital organs. Urine can be stored for no more than 1.5 hours before the general test. Later use will be unreliable, as its cellular composition changes).

How should the test results be sent?

Do not forget! Tests must be taken on an empty stomach.
All test results must be sent at once!
If you have vision problems, you must undergo an ophthalmologist consultation in advance and obtain a written report stating that you have no contraindications to rhinoplasty.
If there are concomitant diseases, a consultation with a relevant specialist will be required.
You do not need to message me on social networks or via Viber or WhatsApp immediately after sending the test results to let me know that you have just sent them.

Selfies for modeling are NOT accepted!
Photos for modeling without CT results are not accepted. For more details on what a CT scan is and how to do it correctly, read here.

How to take photos correctly

Ask someone to take a picture of you. The photographer should be at a distance of 1-1.5 meters when shooting.
During shooting, the camera must be at nose level. The photos must be of good quality, not blurry, and in “focus”.
Photos must be taken in good lighting, without shadows.
The background in the photos should be light (ideally white).
Modeling with closed eyes is not performed!
The photo size must be at least 500 KB

Nose modeling will require:

One front-facing photo (en face)
Two profile photos (from both sides)
Two semi-profile photos (45 degrees — from both sides)
One photo — bottom view

Photo examples

Modeling performed on your own or by another surgeon is not commented upon!
Modeling is done only once and only in profile.
