A charming young lady came to see me for a consultation. Unfortunately, her beautiful and expressive facial features were somewhat lost against the backdrop of a rather massive nose. The patient’s primary wish was to soften her profile, making it more feminine and harmonious, and getting rid of the stern and heavy expression dictated by her initial anatomy.
Initial Anatomical Features
During the detailed examination stage, I noticed several key features:
- First, a highly pronounced osteo-cartilaginous hump was visually dominant.
- Second, the tip of the nose was elongated, heavy, and drooped downward, creating an acute nasolabial angle. It was this particular detail that visually weighed down the lower third of the face, giving it a slightly tired and aged appearance.
- In addition, as is often the case with such deformities, we encountered a deviated nasal septum, which caused the patient to experience certain difficulties with nasal breathing.
- The skin on the nose turned out to be quite thick. For a surgeon, this is a task of increased complexity: it is necessary to create a cartilage framework so strong and refined that even under a thick layer of tissue, the tip of the nose looks sculpted and neat.
The Course of the Operation and Surgical Objectives
During the surgery, my primary goal was to perform a delicate yet comprehensive rhinoseptoplasty. With jewelry-like precision, I lowered the projection of the nasal bridge, completely eliminating the hump and shaping a smooth, beautiful profile line.
The most meticulous work was required for the tip: I reshaped the cartilage, shortened the nose, lifted the tip, and securely fixed it in its new position, harmoniously opening up the nasolabial angle. Along with aesthetics, I performed a functional correction—straightening the septum to restore free and easy breathing for the patient.
Result After 11 Months
In the “After” photograph, we see the result 11 months after the intervention. The tissues have contracted beautifully, and the nose has assumed its final, stable shape. Look at how radically the perception of the face has changed! It has become more open, fresh, and incredibly feminine.
The straight, elegant bridge and refined tip fit perfectly into the overall proportions, highlighting the beauty of my patient’s eyes and lips. I am genuinely happy to see her joyful smile—now she can breathe deeply and fully enjoy her renewed, harmonious appearance.
