A young woman consulted me for aesthetic profile correction and the resolution of breathing issues. A large nose with a high dorsal hump visually weighed down her refined facial features, depriving them of natural softness and harmony. In addition, the patient noted periodic difficulties with nasal breathing, especially at night, indicating a concomitant deviated internal septum.
Anatomical analysis “Before” surgery
When analyzing the patient’s right and left profiles, I identified the following structural features:
- Nasal dorsum: A pronounced osteocartilaginous hump with a significant projection, disrupting the smoothness of facial lines.
- Nasal tip: Slightly drooping, excessively long, with an acute nasolabial angle. During facial expressions, the tip moved even lower, enhancing the hooked effect.
- Skin quality: Moderate skin thickness combined with good elasticity. This is a favorable factor for tissue contraction; however, the early postoperative period in such patients is often accompanied by edema retention.
Surgical objectives and nuances of the intervention
My goal was to create a neat, harmonious, and distinctly feminine nose that would perfectly fit the patient’s facial proportions.
During the operation, I performed a careful lowering of the bony and cartilaginous components of the nasal dorsum, completely eliminating the hump and creating a smooth, elegant line. Next, I performed a rotation of the nasal tip — delicately lifting it and adjusting its projection, opening the nasolabial angle to an aesthetically precise 100–105 degrees. As an internal stage, septoplasty was performed to straighten the septum and restore full aeration of the nasal passages.
Result 3 weeks after surgery
The photographs show a very early result — just 3 weeks after the surgical intervention. At this stage, it is extremely important to correctly evaluate the picture:
- Correction of defects: The profile has changed dramatically. The high hump is completely gone, giving way to a refined, straight dorsum with a subtle, barely noticeable transition to the tip.
- New position of the tip: The nasal tip is elevated, the overall length of the nose is reduced, and the face has begun to look significantly softer, prettier, and younger.
- Rehabilitation features: At this stage, moderate postoperative edema still persists (especially in the tip and supratip areas), which is absolutely natural for a 21-day timeframe. The tissues will continue to settle, the swelling will gradually subside, and over the coming months, the contours of the nose will become even more sculpted, defined, and delicate.
Despite such a short time since the surgery, the patient is already absolutely delighted with her new reflection in the mirror. Breathing has been fully restored, and the new facial proportions have allowed the young woman to feel maximally confident and harmonious.
