Mother’s eyes, and the nose — from Gevorg Yuryevich: the transformation story of a patient from Artsakh
In this video, I want to share a clinical case that is very special to me. This was my first completely free surgery, which I performed for a resident of Artsakh.
Initial picture (BEFORE):
A charming young woman came to my consultation, who had been self-conscious about her profile for many years. Upon a detailed examination, I analyzed the following issues:
- A pronounced bony-cartilaginous hump.
- A wide nasal bridge and somewhat thickened skin.
- Functional disorders of nasal breathing requiring mandatory correction.
Course of the operation:
To achieve an ideal aesthetic and functional result, I performed a comprehensive work: endoscopic conchoplasty and reconstructive rhinoseptoplasty. During the intervention, I applied the piezorhinoplasty technique (ultrasonic surgery). This allowed me to eliminate the hump and shape a graceful, straight profile as gently as possible, without unnecessary tissue traumatization. The ideal result, emphasizing the patient’s natural beauty, was already visible on the operating table.
Emotions (7 days after surgery):
The most touching moment in my work is the cast removal. Exactly one week after the surgery, the patient saw her new nose in the mirror for the first time. She simply couldn’t hold back tears of joy! Her face showed genuine shock and happiness: she carefully touched her face with her hands, as if not fully believing that the reflection was herself, but with such a harmonious and neat profile.
The warmth with which the girl thanked me after her rehabilitation was a huge surprise for me. She presented me with a stunning carved panel with the symbols of Artsakh, my portrait made using a complex thread technique, and a bottle of wine with a brilliant personalized label: “Mother’s eyes, and the nose — from Gevorg Yuryevich”.
I am sincerely glad that I was able to give the patient not only free breathing, but also confidence in her beauty!
